Huge Spike in Visitors Towards the End. It’s Over.

Update: The 2011 Darsana Book fair will be held from 28th January – 06th February at Thirunakkara Grounds.

26th Kottayam International Book Fair came to a close today evening after 10 glorious days of smooth running. It was a joy, celebrating it over here at KP. All our Book Fair posts are tagged “bookfair09“, which now serves as a report cum photo feature of the biggest annual event of Kottayam.

Next year, we plan on initiating something that will provide more stats, numbers and facts about the event.

Sad, but yes, it’ll take another year to experience this again.

The quality of book printing & publishing is soaring heights and is getting so fine that even browsing through book covers is such a pleasure. We had some great time browsing through the sea of awesome books on display at the DC Books + Current Books stall (the left-most pavilion).

This is where you’ll find international bestsellers. A lot of them. And loads of foreign books. Here goes the picks.

Book Fair Nearing the Peak

Update: The 2011 Darsana Book fair will be held from 28th January – 06th February at Thirunakkara Grounds.

As in all these years, the sooner it’s going to end, the greater the number turns out. With 5 days remaining, there is a steady rise in the numbers. A trend we observed – the numbers are not quite high during the daytime, but the rush in the evenings makes up for it with families flocking in. Obviously, sales too have registered a rise.

This year’s single-pavilion arrangement and efficient stall design, are worth appreciating. Apart from contributing to the niceness of the venue, it also ensures, every participant is given equal prominence.
